Matar Paneer – Green Peas & Indian Cheese in Fragrant Tomato Sauce

This is the quickest curry you’ll ever make and if you like tomato based curries then you’ll be in heaven…I swear

Heat ghee in a hot pan, saute ginger, garlic and onion.

Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, ground red and black pepper, garam masala and paprika. 

Cook for a few minutes and then add the tomatoes.  Add a little water if the sauce gets too thick.

Add salt and frozen peas.  Cook til peas are defrosted.

Add the paneer and stir through very gently so that the cheese does not break up.

Add the fresh coriander and serve.

It’s that quick!!!

It might not be the prettiest curry you’ve ever seen, but it’ll be one of the best tasting ones!

  1. this is the kind of dish i could eat really often, except that it’s hard for me to find paneer nearby. i had this little indian shop selling it for a while, but not anymore. bummer.

  3. OMG my mouth is watering. I am sooo going to do this. and I don’t care that the family will screw up their faces and say “more hippy food?”. I will pick the milk up tomorrow.
